Back in this place called MALACCA...

Week 3 of my Clinical Attachment. Will be attached in Ortho Ward, and this means i will be seeing pts (patients) with broken arms and legs. :-(

It's Christmas!

Mine wasn't so good. So many things happened. Guess no need to mention here.

Had a turkey with my friends. It's from Victoria Station. Whoa!

The turkey is complimentary of Amy Tan Li Peng! =)

We had the turkey in Mid Valley. Coffee bean to be exact. There are many event going on there. Dances, play and so on. It was packed!

The closing of IMU cup is here, which means its the cheerleading competition.

After tons of effort put into choreographing the dances and practices to make it synchronize, its all come to a day. All came to 6 minutes of dancing, music and crowd cheering.

Not easy to be cheerleader you know? Got to do lots of makeup. Lots!..

Guys also can be a cheerleader. Damn cool wei their outfit and hairstyle!

They are not at all rejected. They are a band formed by few pharmacy students in IMU.

Their previous performance was in the B106/B107 orientation closing ceremony. I was asked to snap photos for them. I think I did a lousy job. Sorry guys. :D

The Eye

My cousin was in KL for the past two days, so took this opportunity to go to several places. One of it was the Eye on Malaysia.

After going rounds around KL, finally found this place. Well, its not a tall structure which you can actually see from far. You got to come near, then only you can see it.

Guess what, I have no tripod and its so dark there. The shutter is so slow. Taken from the side of the lake. Great picture with the reflection..

All 5 of us paid RM 15 perperson for the 15 minutes ride.

With even slower shutter speed. I got this. :)

After having paid RM15, we must take picture kau kau then only worth it ma. So we did this lil' experiment. This is the result.

clubbing at Ruums

MY BLOG IS NOT DEAD, ok?

Well, Its officially 10 days of not blogging. I got many to blog but just couldn't find the time to blog. Sigh. Busy busy busy.

Yesterday (13 July) was Yok Dai's birthday. Happy Birthday girl! :D

This girl ah, I promised to bring her go club since first year of university but till now, the final year already still never manage to go. So last night die die also must go club with her. :D

At first went to Maison, pack like sardin. So tak jadi, then go to Passion, wah, empty like cemetery. Sure change place. Aloha was quite happening but too bad its not ladies on Thurday so we ended up in Ruums. :D

Its actually my second time in Ruums. Came here for its opening. Overall the place not bad. It was quite an great clubbing session le. Everyone so high.

Drink drink drink and dance dance dance. Notice Chuan Zhen red tomato face. =_="

Dance all night. The song not bad. environment quite ok. Everything turn out to be perfect. :D

Not forgetting some session of snapping photos also. I didn't bring my dSLR ler. Photos taken with Julian's camera. Alan so emo adi. so blur.... :p

All that i can say, This is life!!

Yum Char in Old Town

Dumpling Festival Dinner

I went back home for Dumpling Festival Dinner. Have been awhile since I last time eat my mom's cooking. Bad son. Everyday not home wan. hahaha

Here are some of the shots of the food on that night.

My mom's Kwang Si Yong Tau Fu. Kwang Si is a province in China. That's all i know. The filling of the Yong Tau Fu got meat, peanut and vege (Kau Choi, in cantonese).

The the same filling is also stuff in the taufu and steam. Damn nice wei.

Then got sea cucumber mushroom chicken also. :D yummy!

Lastly, its the plain-cut chicken. (pak jam kei in cantonese). lol..dunno how to translate la.

Last Saturday went around KL to shoot some picture. Went with Kuan Ming. He uses Olympus E410 + Kit Lens + Wide lens + Telephoto lens also. Me? Sony A100 with kit lens only le. :(

Went around KL. Saw some nice plants and flowers. What else, shoot and snap.

I personally love the above picture. :D

The sun was very bright on that day. Many photos turn out to be underexposed. Sigh, dun even know how to make WB adjustment yet.

Lunch with Brian

Last week, I went to meet up with my old old old friends. Erm, not to say that they are old but it is that we have known each other since primary 1 or 2. If you can count, that would be about 15 years of friendship. Almost 1/3 of my life was with them. Hope you guys dun get bored of me. =)

Actually we meet up from time to time. But last week Brian came back from god-knows-where (I always thought that you are in Hawaii/Philippines). Mana tau, you told me you were in Hong Kong.

Hawaii /Philippines / Hong Kong people really can eat. Dude, you can finish a half chicken meal with 3 sidelines along with the muffins. :D

Oh, forgot to say, we makan at Kenny Rogers in Mid Valley.

This is what I have ordered. Quarter black pepper chicken with potato cubes, mashed potato and fruit salad.

We had a good chat.

Kek Lok Si Temple

After having laksa, we went to the Kek Lok Si Temple. It is actually walking distance from the laksa stall.

Walking or rather climbing the stairs is way more fun then driving up the place lo. You get to see stalls selling various stuff like clothes and most importantly you get to feed the little turtle there. Erm, it might not be little la. Some quite huge also.

Kek Lok Si temple is a huge place. You get to pai pai (pray) and its an amazing place to visit. The details on the walls are just so detailed. LoL, what am I talking. Aiyah, you all know la.

Now, you can even take the incline stairs to the bronze kuan yin statue. Just pay RM4. The money goes into the building fun of the temple too. So, why not la.

The view up there is just superb but I didn't get many shots cause it starts to drizzle already. Need to protect my baby ok.

That's the end of my Penang post (I hope, I might just find something out of it to blog about).

Eat full full then walk walk

Penang trip is not complete without a visit to Gurney Drive. I was there on Monday night but sad to say that half stretch of gurney drive was closed on that night. ;(

Closed!! That means don't have my favorite food. Sigh. But I did had my great time there too. Half stretch also jadi la. Also got great food.

You pick then I fried for you. I wound never miss this especially the fried chicken skin!! ahaha, sure many of you will say 'eewww'. But it's damn nice ok? Not forgetting the pandan leave chicken.

This weird looking shell, I cant find in KL, not in any other place except here in gurney. Never eat before? Then must go try!! They provide chili sauce wan. Dip and eat lo!

Erm, I never order this. But it come with the shell wan wo. Is it suppose to eat together wan ah? Penang people, let me know. I dont care together or not. I just eat only. I like century egg also!

Erm, satay. Where can miss wan. hahaha. Chicken satay made by a Chinese stall. Nice!!

Zorbing is a BIG, fat, 3 ½ metre huge inflatable ball, round and bouncy, you jump inside it, it rolls and so do you. I haev always wanted to go to zorbing. Now, its here. Its in Malaysia. Its in KL!

There are two different ways to ride in a Zorbing, one involves getting wet and one doesn’t. Water in the hydro Zorbing Ball is to make the surface slippery so you slide rather than rotate with the Zorbing Ball. The Harness experience is designed as a more extreme ride as you are rotating. It involve strapping you inside the Zorbing Ball and water is added in with you. whoa!!

Okay, just one more food post before some post on the places that I have visited. Well, go to penang wo, sure go and eat Asam Laksa wan la. Many would agree if I say Penang produces best asam laksa in Malaysia, some say in Singapore or even Thailand. :D

One of the best place to have Asam Laksa is at the Air Itam market. Very near to Kek Lok Si temple.

Most of the time, this kaki lima would be full of people coming from all over Penang, or Malaysia and even Singapore to eat Asam Laksa.

The main secret lies within the soup. Well, I dunno what is the secret la. It just taste so good. I pay and makan only.

Its truly Asam Laksa at its best. Only RM2.30 leh. Where else you can find leh??! :D

Well, Penang is no doubt famous for its great variety of food. And, yes, this blog is about food. And, yes those in overseas, please hate me for posting about Malaysian food.

Botanical Garden got a lot of monkey. Erm, some can be quite fierce. They would come over and snatch your things especially food. At one point, I was worried that they come snatch my alpha away.

Its green everywhere. I just feel like roll on the green grass just like those in bollywood movie. But, its just after rain le. so cant lo.

Penang wo!

Back from Penang yesterday late evening. Sorry guys, was too tired to blog about it. In fact, I am still tired till now. I was the driver for the whole trip. Well, having to recall for direction in the island of Penang and having to watch out for others skillful drivers in Penang was indeed tiring. Not to mention, I drove all the way back from Penang to KL without stop.

This trip got a bit different because I went with my family. Hahaha, my last trip with my family was probably during my form 4/5. It was Langkawi. That is all that I can remember.

I stayed in Hotel Malaysia. Well, it is not a super grand hotel but I enjoy the cosy environment and friendly staff. We opted for the superior room with 2 king sized bed and 4 breakfast. It was only RM122.

Hotel Malaysia is situated near the upper Penang Rd. It is very near to the night club hot spot in Penang. Got MoMo la, SS and many others. Right in front of the hotel also got the best sup kambing in Penang. Ahem, down penang road also got many entertainment outlet for single men. Got blond wan, black wan, asia and even ah kua also got. :D

I went to Kei Tak Sek in Kepong last two week. Not the first time in this place le. I was around Segambut area ma. So think go there to have a tea lo. This Kei Tak Sek got no air con wan and maybe because of this, its price is cheaper than the other outlet of Kei Tak Sek.

My favorite, waterchestnut corn dessert. Very hard to find wan lo.

Cameron Highland - Hot springs

After playing with the eggs, then we go to the Mountain Springs Pool.

Its a huge pool. Like Sunway Lagoon wan lo. The water is cold wan. Not hot at all. The later we go to the hot spring. Start from 20C to 40C. damn hot le, the 40C pool.

After that we, booked a private jacuzzi. So nice le.

On the way out, i got this.

Back to post about Cameron Highland. So, we left Cameron about 1pm, had our lunch half journey and head to this place, Sungai Klah Hot Springs Park.

Its the final destination before we head back to KL. How to go this place? Erm, from the highway, exit at Sungkai exit and you can see sign already. After you follow the sign half way, you may feel that those signs are leading you to nowhere cause to reach this place you actually need to pass by a malay kampung and oil palm estate. It is so remote that you couldn't even get telco service.

But, I can assure you. It is a nice place to be. Its like walking in the jungle then suddenly you found a Sunway Lagoon. Erm, picture about is not related but it is nice! :D

This is my first time to go to a hot spring. Its so damn hot ok?!

It's so hot that you can even boil your eggs! Imagine if you fell into that pool.

They even provide instruction on the timing for preparing the egg. Setengah masak (Half-boiled) is 2 minutes wor~!

Malacca = Great Food

Okay, back to Malacca. It has been awhile since I last post about food. So, now i going to post about great food in Malacca.

Breakfast : Malacca Tai Pau.
Erm. I post before about this 'tai pau'. Sure will eat each time I go malacca. Aside from the pau, got endless choices dim sum also.

Lunch: The original chicken rice ball.
This one no fake one. Hahaha. I mean, this is not the comersialize chicken rice ball. The rice ball is great. I ate like 8 of those.

After lunch dessert : Nyonya Durian Chendol.
Walking down Jonker St. from the chicken rice ball stall, you can taste one of the best cendol in Malaysia. Some say (I also say) better than Teo Chew cendol in Penang Road. Erm, still a controversial issue la.

Evening Tea : Nyonya Dumpling
From Jonker St., I went to A'Famosa and Padang Pahlawan, to snap snap. Then got this new, huge food court. Saw some dessert. Nice then order and try lo. Peanut 'porridge' not bad. Hardly can find in KL.

Then saw this stall selling the Nyonya Dumpling. I saw this dumpling from the TV show, Ho Jiak before. The stall got the 'Ho Jiak' sign and the picture of the uncle who made the dumpling from his home. Well, why not try it. Erm, not bad at all. But, I still like the nyonya dumpling that my aunt made. Still the best.

Millions of Colours, Millions of Smiles - Part 2

The main idea of the performance is based on laser projection on the building behind the main stage along with musics and dances.

The whole view is so nice.

There are various type of dances including Malay, Chinese and Indian. Aside from the three main races in Malaysia, there are dances and traditional performance from Sabah and Sarawak and even protugist dances.

The backdrop will change with each type of dance. So nice leh. Erm, first class view!

This is one of my favourite laser projection on the building.

Whole event ended with a great firework!

Damn nice la. Dunno how to explain. =P

I was in Putrajaya on the night of 26 May 2006 for the Colours of Malaysia celebration.

So, lets put on hold the updates on Cameron and Malacca. Wah, for the first time, so much to update and so little time. I guess I shall just keep it first. Will update when I have nothing to update. :D

This is my second time in Putrajaya. I still do not know the way around the city so I ended up parking the car at 4 km away from the place. Erm, have to walk like mad lo.

So, after 4 km of walk, felling sweaty and sticky already. The show not yet start also. The performers are getting ready while waiting for the arrival of the Prime Minister, Pak Lah.

Actually, aside from taking picture, a dSLR is good in a way that people may thinks that you are someone from the media. Thanks to my alpha, I manage to sneak into the front of the main stage with the best view of the programme.

Monkey Island then?

After taking some shots of monkey, we leave Monkey Island and rush to start our shows marathon.

First up is the Wild Wild West Show.

Then, multianimal show and bird show.

The bird is smart enough to collect the money as a donation for their own food campaign. LoL.

Even duck participate in the show. I was like, 'Wah, duck also can train wan ah?!'

After, the shows, we went to the safari. Well, basically we sit in a truck and let the animal sees us.

Got lion lo.

Got tiger also.

At about 5, we leave A'Famosa and head down to Malacca town to look for hotel room. Erm, not yet book wan. While hotel hunting, I snap this shot.

Anyone can guess where this two pictures is taken? Challenge especially to those from Malacca. Hehe.

A'Famosa Resort 2007

Updating blog from OldTown White Coffee in Dataran Pahlawan, Melaka. First day of Malacca trip, I was in A'Famaso Resort. Went to the Safari.

Entry tickets is RM35 perperson. It's worth the money la but do not go in the same place twice. Make sure you go to all the shows cause that will make your money worth.

Erm, got chicken farm in it also. LoL.

You can see peacock walk here and there in the whole area.

Then, we can take a boat to Monkey Island. Come, lets go...

Cameron Highland - Bee Farm

The 4th part is here. After Boh Tea, we went to this Bee Farm.

Actually I've just seen a bee farm from TV only. First time going to a real bee farm. The kept the bees in wooden boxes.

There are stall selling fresh honey and also HONEY ICE-CREAM STICK!

The flowers in the bee farm area is very nice so I got this shot of the national flower, Bunga Raya.

Cameron Highland - Boh Tea

Here comes the part three of my cameron trip. It might goes up to part 5..ahaha..I post fast fast la because I might be going to Penang after this. =)

Besides strawberries farm we also went to Boh Tea Plantation.

If you know about Cameron Highland, the tea plantation we went is the one located in Sungei Palas. There are actually a few of the Boh Tea Center. This plantation is situated kinda far from the Brinchang (the most top town), the roads are small, only one lane and is so near to the cliff. On top of that, from the parking lot, we have to walk through the tea plant to the center up hill.

There is a tea house and a viewing deck on top of the viewing hill. The view.....WONDERFUL!

No wide lens, this is the best i can do. =(

On the way back, there is an grass field, so we tried jumping also, just like smashpOp. Erm, not a bad first attempt i would say.

Cameron Highland - Strawberries

After endless turn to the left and right at the winding road, we finally reached Cameron Highland. It was about 6pm actually. Since we have not booked any hotel room, we quickly go for room hunt.

Sunflower is so nice. Just cant stop snapping it. Nice ma?

Erm, since we reached so late on the first day. Nothing much we can do l0. I can only snap this from the balcony of our rented apartment.

On the second day, we suppose to go visiting on all the places lo. But, when a bunch of guys go for trips, we tend to sleep late. So, woke up at 12pm.

We went to strawberry farm.

One pack only RM5. So cheap lo!! Imagine, unlimited supply of strawberries. We even melt chocolate and dip the strawberries in it. *saliva dripping*

Got XL strawberries also. Damn huge lo. Size of a golf ball, some even bigger.

Who want some strawberries? =)

Okay..finally here is some of the photos from my trip to Cameron Highland. I guess i have to break it up to few parts cause I think I snap about 700++ pictures. All pictures taken with my new Sony A100 dSLR. hehe..comments are welcomed!

We left KL at 12pm. Erm, we are 2 hours behind our planned time. Erm...its very common la..

We exited the highway at Tapah. Went to find food and we got lost halfway.

After had lunch, we managed to find back the way and continue our journey. Half way to Cameron we stopped at some waterfall.

Wah, this post I owe the seniors (p104) so long already. I've promised them to show them how is the new IMU 4th floor look like but till now only post. I guess they are coming back soon and by that time can look at it themselves.

IMU from outside. The work for the annex block is going fast!

Actually when you up on the 4th floor, it does gives you the 'university' feel that IMU have been lack of since day 1.

There are plenty of 'coffee bean' tables and chairs located at the walkway for the student. On top of that, IMU Wireless is FINALLY up, so student can sit here and chat with MSN Messenger.

Erm, have to walk up wan. So now total, we have 4 floors to strain our leg muscle.

Aside from the 4th floor. There are other several changes to IMU also. See, our new computer. Hahahaha.

Like I've mentioned on the earlier post. We went to Fionna house after exam. Well, we did some silly things le. Julian came out with this "GREAT" idea to play a fool on CZ.

He suggested him to play this 'You hit, I hit' game. Erm, It's something like 'You stript, I stript' in American Pie 2 but minus stripping part. LoL. This is how the stupid game goes. You suppose to hit the other player with a spoon in your mouth and see who hit harder. But, Julian cheated.

Finally! Finally after 3 - 4 weeks of torturing study break and exams, I am in holiday now. End of semester 6 breaks. It is a 7 weeks break and semester 7 will commence on the 2nd of July. I guess I would have plenty of time to do whatever I want to do. Well, I have got my elective to get it done. My topic is travelling and photography. I am suppose to travel around Malaysia and take some nice photos. I need a new camera. I really wish to get this.

Today's last paper was not easy. I just tried my best. I guess that is more than what I can do. After that went to meet up with Fionna. Had dinner at Kaki Corner Steak House then head over to her house to do some catch-up. It was a great night. Back at home now at 5.30am and doing my laundry.

Got to catch some rest now. Tomorrow will be at One Utama and The Curve.

Before I go, just wanna shout one more time. "Yay! It's Holiday!!!"

Cant wait for the exam to over. 8th May will mark the end of exam life in BPharm. The next two semester gonna be more on research and practical. I hope there will no longer tiring and stressful exam week. Will be independent day. Can drink all I can!

Sometime I do feel like I have wasted my youth. Putting all the time into my studies. When people come and ask you, What you have done 4 years in IMU? Wah, that is tough to answer lo.

So, I wanna spend the last year in my university to do things that I enjoy doing. I will do it!
